Writer’s Relief would like to congratulate Olaf Kroneman on his recent nomination for the prestigious Pushcart Prize.
He writes: “Without Writer’s Relief, none of this would be possible. I lack the skills of proofreading, spelling, grammar, and word processing. I don’t type well. Writer’s Relief understands the markets and how to assess them in an efficient and comprehensive manner. The drudgery is removed. I have been with Writer’s Relief for four years and plan to be a lifer. They are as advertised and more.”
About Olaf: I am a physician who enjoys telling stories for amusement, catharsis, and to enlighten the layperson of the cold realities and ambiguities at the warm end of the stethoscope. At this end you will find heroes and villains. I am fascinated by both.
My fiction is influenced by the patients I attend. Their courage and endurance motivate me to write. After 25 years I have many stories to tell.
I was born in Detroit in 1951. I attended Michigan State University, where I received my medical degree in 1977. I obtained post-graduate training at the Mayo Clinic, the University of Virginia, and a Harvard appointment to the Massachusetts General Hospital. I have boards in Internal Medicine, Nephrology, and Nutrition.
My work has appeared in The Furnace, The Healing Muse, Left Curve, Quiddity International Literary Journal, and RiverSedge. My story “The Recidivist” won the Writer’s Digest short story contest for popular fiction. I have written one novel and am almost finished with a second.
When not practicing medicine or writing, I am obsessed with my wonderful family, golf, and my Reverend electric guitar.
I live in Michigan with my wife Mary. My two children and two grandchildren live in Illinois.
My website, www.OlafKroneman.com, is near completion.
