Congratulations to Kathleen McCormick! Her book, Dodging Satan, received the 2019 Elena Lucrezia Cornaro Award. Presented by The Sons and Daughters of Italy’s New York State Grand Lodge Foundation, this award is named for the first woman in history to receive a PhD and recognizes outstanding Italian-American scholars for significant contributions to their professions and communities. McCormick received the award for her creative work; her exceptional commitment to her students; and her outstanding contributions to scholarship in Joyce studies, pedagogy, and Italian-American studies. In addition, Dodging Satan also won Topshelf Magazine’s Best Cover Award in Small Press Fiction in May, 2019.
