Click on the video above to hear about Iris’s experience with Writer’s Relief!

Meet our featured client, Iris Litt! Years ago Iris had a strong writing career, but like so many people, she was sidetracked by life’s responsibilities. Later, at a time when many people think about retiring and slowing down, Iris decided to return to writing! At the age of 92, Iris is now an award-winning writer and has had short stories, poems, and articles published in the Saturday Evening Post, Travelers’ Tales, Confrontation, The Widow’s Handbook, The London Magazine, the new renaissance, Earth’s Daughters, Rambunctious Review, and many others.

Read on and watch the video to hear how partnering with Writer’s Relief lets Iris spend her time writing while we do all the busywork of researching markets and preparing submissions.

In Iris’s Own Words

When I was eleven I started sending out poems, and by the time I was thirteen, I was writing for my hometown newspaper. I got married young, had two kids, worked up a good base as a freelance writer, secured a top agent, and wrote for a popular monthly column. Everything seemed right on track. But then life events forced me to get a full-time job as an advertising copywriter, which I did for nearly thirty years.

Years later I found myself ready to pick up right where I left off. But the landscape of the writing and publishing worlds had changed significantly, and I didn’t have the energy to keep up with it all on my own. That’s where Writer’s Relief came in. They made me realize the importance of sending your work out to multiple markets and of keeping it circulating. In a field that is now much more crowded and competitive than it used to be, this is important! They also are so nice to work with and feel like genuine friends.

Writer’s Relief is making it possible for me to keep getting published, even though I’m not young and vigorous anymore—and they could help you too!

Just keep writing, keep submitting, and don’t get discouraged. Good luck!
