Congratulations to Timm Holt on being our featured client! We were touched by Timm’s poetry when he submitted to our Review Board in late 2010. And his words and warm personality have moved us ever since. His poems offer worldly observations through his unique and distinct voice that is sometimes melancholy and always honest. Timm is out and proud, and we are happy to help him and other talented LGBT writers submit their good writing. We hope you’ll watch his one-minute video and visit his websites to learn more about his many talents!
Where Timm Finds Inspiration:
Writer’s Relief has been, well, a relief. I first tried researching the markets myself online and with Writer’s Digest. I was spending more time sorting out publishers than writing, and though the research was necessary, it was not what I wanted to be doing. Additionally I could never spell, thus Timm with 2 m’s, and though I can still diagram a sentence, my grammar can be inconsistent. Writer’s Relief takes away all of that hassle and lets me write.
More About Timm Holt:
The past few years I called New Orleans home; since May it’s Chicago, Illinois, where I grew up. After being away a number of years, it is great to be back home with my partner Dan, our dog Miss Otis, and our cat Goldie. I am a retired physician and a writer. I’ve written for numerous medical journals and have published a couple of medical books. Now that I am retired, I write poetry and occasionally plays. My inspiration comes from life’s events. I especially like to explore the relationship of healing, literature, and spirituality. My work has appeared in or is forthcoming in A&U, Diverse Voices Quarterly, Grey Sparrow, RiverSedge, Eunoia, and Sloth Jockey. Two of my plays, Teddy’s Nightmare and Aurora Borealis, have been produced at the Marigny Theatre in New Orleans.
