On a chilly October night, a writer out walking encounters the Headless Horseman riding his swift-footed steed.
Headless Horseman: Woah! What are you doing wandering around out here in the dark? Also, shouldn’t you be terrified and screaming right now? I have a large sword and a jack o’ lantern for a head.
Writer: Oh sorry, Headless Horseman. I’m so distracted—I’ve spent hours and hours trying to research and find markets for my writing. But there are so many to consider! Plus all the different guidelines, reading dates, genres…I finally had to get a breath of fresh air; my head was spinning.
Headless Horseman: I know the feeling!
Writer: I just really want to get my writing published! But it’s so hard to find the right markets and stick to a consistent submission schedule. In the past I’ve spent night after night burning the midnight oil for the few submissions I did make, and all I got for my efforts were some rejection letters…or I was completely ghosted!
Headless Horseman: You know, right now is a great time to submit your writing—the autumn publishing rush is in full force! Literary agents and editors are sending out acceptances faster than Ichabod Crane running at full sprint.
But you don’t have to lose your head trying to do it all alone.
For over twenty-six years, the research experts at Writer’s Relief have successfully connected writers with the right literary agents and editors to boost their odds of getting published. They’ve got good heads on their shoulders, and I should know.
Writer: Wow, that’s some scary-good advice! How do you know so much about getting published?
Headless Horseman: Writer’s Relief helped me get an agent for my memoir, From Pumpkin Seed To Pumpkin Skull, during the last autumn publishing rush. They targeted my work with pinpoint accuracy, proofread and formatted my submissions, and even helped me get published in literary journals—like magic!
I was on my way to giving a reading at my local haunt, the library, when I met you.
Writer: I’ll send my writing samples to Writer’s Relief tonight! Thanks for letting me pick your brain, Headless Horseman! Now, excuse me as I run screaming.
Headless Horseman: (waving sword) MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
For a limited time, the Writer’s Relief Review Board is considering writing samples from authors who hope to join our client list:
