It’s such a joy to have been working with Stephanie Kaplan Cohen since the very beginning, when Writer’s Relief started in 1994. Stephanie is a tremendous writer: persistent, focused, and successful! She has earned more publication credits with Writer’s Relief than we can count (well, we could count…but it would take very a long time to do it!).

Stephanie’s submission strategist (who is also a big fan) describes Stephanie as funny, feisty, and upbeat. She presents her characters with full-frontal, even outrageous honesty, and yet she doesn’t sacrifice nuance or depth for superficial shock value. Her personal essays and memoir about growing up in Long Island show us a woman who is part preservationist, part historian, part artist. It’s no wonder that editors love her!

In Her Own Words

When I began to write in earnest, Writer’s Relief became my editor, cheering squad, and agent all rolled into one. To my amazement and delight, I received five acceptances in the first year.

My manuscripts are corrected and ready to go, and my work is submitted to appropriate publications.

Writer’s Relief and I have been working colleagues for almost twenty years, during which time I have had many acceptances, published many pieces that are included in my two published books.

The people I have been lucky enough to work with have all been a delight. Although we have never met, each and every one of them has become a friend who rejoices in any success I have. Hooray for Writer’s Relief.
