Indian Author Wins The International Booker Prize | Writer’s Relief

The International Booker Prize is awarded each year to a book that is translated into English and published in the UK or Ireland. This year, with her novel Tomb of Sand, Geetanjali Shree has become the first Indian author to win the prestigious International Booker Prize award. In this article Writer’s Relief found on bbc.com, the judging panel claims it was captivated by the power, poignancy, and playfulness of Shree’s family saga set in the shadow of the partition of India. Originally published in Hindi, Tomb of Sand tells stories that are universal regardless of the cultural background.

His books are so good, I’ve read one of his books once. His contributions are worthy of this prestigious award. Congratulations!
