In Vivian Lawry’s Own Words

Writer’s Relief has been central to my writing life. Their familiarity with writing markets has freed me to write memoir, memoir-based fiction, magical realism, mysteries, experimental fiction—to go wherever my creative muse leads me—without worrying about my target publications. And having work due every two months has kept me productive.

Writing is never easy, but it is especially difficult when life gets on top of you. When a death in the family and my daughter’s eight-week hospitalization left me no time to polish new work, my team at Writer’s Relief helped identify work on-hand suitable to resubmit.

For me, writing is the core of being intellectually alive. Every time a story is accepted, I feel as though someone has pasted a gold star on my creative soul. All those acceptances would never have happened without Writer’s Relief.
