Say hello to Jason Boling, our featured client! When Jason decided to get serious about submitting his work in hopes of getting published, he found the submissions process complicated and time-consuming. Thankfully, one day Jason spotted a testimonial video on YouTube from a happy Writer’s Relief client. Jason writes using the pen name Jon Fotch, and his short stories and poems have been published in several journals, including Euphony Journal, Green Hills Literary Lantern, and Whistling Shade.
Read on and watch the video to hear how Writer’s Relief has helped Jason navigate the publishing world and get his writing published.
In Jason’s Own Words
Let’s get this clear right away. I’ve never darkened the door of an MFA program. I don’t have an English degree. And honestly, I don’t want one. I’m just a person who loves to read and write and wanted to put something out into the world. The astonishing fact that I’ve been published at all is 100 percent due to Writer’s Relief.
When I think about it now, I guess I’ve always been a writer. Deep down. Even when I wasn’t writing, I think things were brewing in there somehow. Waiting for a chance to get out. I scribbled here and there. Wrote some stories and poems that went into a drawer or were lost. I was drifting.
Then about two years ago, I decided to get serious. I wrote and wrote some more. Finally, I had an honest stack of work. I began to look around for places to submit, and I did send some things out, but I found the process overwhelming and time-consuming.
What did I send?
Where did I send it?
Am I wasting my time?
I needed help.
I found Writer’s Relief by chance. I was trying to discover the secret of submitting to journals and getting published when I happened across a “featured client” video on YouTube. The rest, as they say, is history. I signed on about two years ago, and in that time, I’ve had over a dozen poems and three short stories published, both online and in print.
Writer’s Relief has it all. They’ve done the research; they know the markets. They know where and when to send your work and how to track it. They have a crack team of excellent proofreaders, and most of all—they’re extremely professional and responsive. I couldn’t recommend them more highly.
It’s honestly as simple as this: I wanted to be published. I wanted to put something into the world that wasn’t there before, and if you’re reading this—then so do you. So just do it. Send it. You never know what might happen. Good luck.
