This week, neighborhoods around Writer’s Relief are besieged by football fans from all over the country. That’s right—the Super Bowl will be practically in our backyard!
And while most of the nation’s attention will be focused on the gridiron (and the commercials), there’s something else happening in New Jersey that’s pretty important.
This year marks New Jersey’s 350th birthday!
The Garden State is celebrating with lots of special events commemorating our contributions to national and international causes.
So, while you’re getting the chips and dip ready for your Super Bowl parties, take a minute to remember these important writers, thinkers, poets, and wordsmiths who all hail from New Jersey.

You should add poets like Maria Gillan and Laura Boss.
Great list! Paul Auster and Fran Lebowitz come to mind, too. The full list of Jersey luminaries would be too long for a post.
