To celebrate its 125th birthday, the Brooklyn Public Library recently determined its 125 most-borrowed books of all time. In this article on LitHub.com, Writer’s Relief learned that many classics made the list, with Lord of the Flies and To Kill a Mockingbird both cracking the list’s top 20. Not surprisingly for a public library, many of the most-borrowed books on the list are children’s books. Dr. Seuss appears on the list 17 times, as do most of the Harry Potter books. And near the very top of the list, you’ll find A Christmas Carol, which is perfect for the upcoming holiday season, and The Cat in the Hat, which is the best read for any rainy day .
You can see all top five books on the library’s list, including the book that’s number one, here.
