Autumn Writing Prompts: You'll Fall For These! | Writer’s Relief

As the days get cooler and shorter, it’s time to refocus on your writing! To help you get started, Writer’s Relief has found autumn-themed photo writing prompts you’ll definitely fall for.

Note: We would love to read what you write in the comments section! Just be aware of the rules about what is considered previously published writing in the publishing industry.

Autumn Writing Prompts

This puppy loves walking through the fallen leaves on a crisp day, but something has caught his attention. What is it?

At first, they assumed the leaves were falling from the trees. But then they realized the unexpected source of this colorful cascade. Where are the leaves coming from?

She leapt and you anticipated the splash, but it never came. Instead, she hovered over the water and gleefully stared down at her reflection. You can’t believe it—your grandmother was right!

It’s the biggest catch of the season! Describe the thrill of the catch!

You thought you heard whispering, but the room is empty except for the Halloween jack-o’-lantern decorations. Then one of the pumpkins blinks.

You’ve fed them all summer, but today is probably the last day you’ll see this mallard couple before they fly south for the winter. Write a poem about farewells in autumn.
