How Writing Constraints Can Set Your Creativity Free | Writer’s Relief

Setting limits can have unlimited potential! If you’re looking for a way to boost your creativity, try setting some constraints on your writing. In this article Writer’s Relief found on LitHub.com, five writers explain how working within certain limitations and setting rules helped unlock their projects. For example, Dashiel Carrera used a time constraint (write as much as you can in 30 minutes) to give his protagonist a hurried, anxious pace. And for his book oems, Matthew Tomkinson used a more unique boundary: He eliminated all the words from the dictionary that contained tall letters (b, d, f, g, h, j, k, l, p, q, t, y) and wrote using only those words that were left.
