We received many high quality submissions for the Peter K. Hixson Award (which was open only to poets in July). We were very impressed with the majority of the submissions we received; but, of course, that made our job more difficult when it came time to choose winners! Submissions from all over the globe made a pile over a foot high!
Multiple readers considered each entry that met submission guidelines. Final round judging was blind.

The winners are listed in alphabetical order:
And our honorable mentions are:
Julian de Wette
The Peter K. Hixson scholarship WILL open again to writers in other genres. So if you would like to enter, stay tuned!
P.S. Our Review Board will be opening for regular submissions tomorrow! If you want to get your writing out during the publishing rush that begins in September, apply to join Writer’s Relief ASAP so that we can have your submissions ready on time! Guidelines here.
