Deadline: Thursday, February 22nd

In our book, The Happy Writer, we share ways to stay motivated, inspired, and excited to write!

Signs Of A Happy Writer Contest: Deadline: 3/23!

Now we want to hear from you!

Write a note with an answer to the question “What makes YOU a happy writer?” and send us a picture of (or with) it. Our favorite entries will appear on our blog and social media pages, and one lucky winner will receive a $25 Amazon gift card!

What your picture should look like:

Your message can be typed out, handwritten on a Post-it, in glitter on colorful poster board, etc. Our main interest is what you have to say, not how you choose to illustrate it! Our only request is that the note is legible and contains family-friendly language. You can choose to have your face in the picture or not.

Before you submit, check out these inspiring examples:

Use the form below to enter your picture by Sunday, March 23, at 11:59 p.m. EDT. (Only one entry per participant.) Winners will be announced Tuesday, March 25.

Help spread the word about our contest by sharing on social media. Thanks in advance and good luck! Let the happiness begin!

Writing makes me think of what I want to say clearly, concisely and truthfully, which is another way to say I love you.

I believe that my story and writing talent is a gift. I have a burning desire to share this gift with as many people as possible. My writing passion is like a fire, and must continually burn in order for me to be fulfilled. I love to write because that is what I am best at.

To write is to live in a world of make believe, where time transports you into the realms of mystical dreams, where imagination runs free and you can be whoever you want to be.

I’m a Happy Writer because…I spin fantastical stories, abuzz
of magical fruit that helps you to fly, take just one bite and you will see why.
I write about glitter that shoots from your ears, spectacular sword fights and unicorn tears,
I’m happy I write about polka-dot squids but mostly because I write it for kids!

I am a happy writer because I don’t expect anyone to read my writings, comment or criticize it. Expectations lead to disappointments at rejection, or adverse criticism.

I want to write but every time I try I fall asleep or I feel too scared and I close the book. Right now I have time, just not the brain.

I am a happy writer because there is much to say, much to listen to, and much to learn, which then inspires more to say. Learning and sharing learning makes me a happy writer.

I’m a Happy Writer because I get to gnaw pens, and I am forced to mine for gold (creativity) in myself that I would never have known was there otherwise. It is a chance to share writing with so many people who want to read and experience something new. I like being pushed to create and discover something new about myself that I didn’t know was there.

I wish I was more computer literate. I tried to enter the contest
but I have had great difficulty. I finally wrote it on your facebook page. You recommended that I enter it in the Happy Writers Contest.
So I tried again.I even tried Power Point to upload it!

Tenaciously but with tenderness the darkness kissed the moon, as the stars looked on.Promises whisper and secrets laugh. Memories are made as the moments pass. The mystery of beauty rides Gypsy Winds, as love slow dances with lust. The song of life and the harmony of death meet one another at the crossroads of Paradise. The oceans powerful passion of the sanctimonious seduction can be seen, hypnotic yet serene, feelings of fantasy, the smell of spectacular, smiling, rainbows engulfed in fog. Resplendent in the reality of the hows and whys, the whos and whats? A preview or a showcase? Wisdom illuminates and learning ends. Fascination or distraction? The art of not doing, always brings action. The value is within and the cost is priceless, the allure is to endure, as fate plays on at opening and closing the portals of imagination and countless other nameless doors.

I have wrote two books, but afraid to publish them. I do it first and foremost for pleasure. But would love to see my books out there. My first book has been read. Finished the sequel. Now writing a supernatural book.
