And he deserves the recognition: In his short prose, he has a talent for capturing human nature that is shared by only the most gifted authors. Quirky and unusual as Jon’s characters are, they come to life through his words and seem as vivid as anyone you might meet in the real world. In Jon Pearson’s Own Words

I love to write. I hate to submit. You write your heart out and then send your little golden parakeet of love or genius or hope out into the world and watch it get run over again and again. Then I found Writer’s Relief. They take care of your creations. They find them nice homes. They do all the work while you follow your dreams.

At first I got rejected, but then I got accepted and accepted. And my world changed. “The” world changed. It was less “cruel.” And now even if I get rejections, I know those little handcrafted parakeets (stories) of mine are in a nice, warm place, waiting for their perfect homes.

More About Jon Pearson

A writer, speaker, and creative thinking consultant, Jon Pearson was once a cartoonist for the Oakland Tribune and an extra for the New York Metropolitan Opera. Secretly, though, Jon sees himself as a magician pulling hats out of rabbits or miracles out of the mundane. He writes now for the same reason he played with his food as a kid: to make the world a better place.
