Featured Client: Lenny Levine

Lenny Levine impressed our Review Board back in 2006 (where does the time go?), and since then he has been on a steadily advancing track to success. Lenny is a versatile, “think outside the box” writer. His work can be attention-grabbing and vivid with colorful characters and fun twists, or it can be “quiet,” emotional, and deeply human. We know better than to be lured into a sense of security by his judicious and careful prose: In Lenny’s world, anything can happen. It’s always a pleasure (and never a surprise) when we’re able to help get his work placed.

In his words:

If it weren’t for Writer’s Relief I would still be an unpublished writer with no idea of what to do with my work. Through them I’ve not only gotten several journals to publish my short stories, but I’ve also managed to land one of the top literary agents in the country to represent me for one of my mystery novels. I would never have had the time or the ability to make any of that happen on my own. I will always be grateful to Ronnie, Kieron, Kristin, and all the people at Writer’s Relief who work so diligently on my behalf.

About Lenny:

Lenny Levine has received a 2011 Pushcart Prize nomination for short fiction. His stories have appeared in Amarillo Bay, Cairn, The Dirty Goat, Eleven Eleven, The Griffin, The Jabberwock Review, RiverSedge, and Westview. He earned a BA in speech and theater from Brooklyn College, after which he became a singer-songwriter. He has written songs and sung backup for Billy Joel, Neil Diamond, Peggy Lee, Diana Ross, Barry Manilow, the Pointer Sisters, Carly Simon, and others. In addition, he has composed many successful jingles, including McDonald’s, Lipton Tea, and Jeep.
